Our Story

A Local, Family-Owned Lighting Company

Bernardy Lighting LLC was founded in 2019 by Micah Bernardy in Lewisville, Texas. What started as a passion for transforming how homes look at night has grown into one of DFW’s trusted residential outdoor lighting specialists.

As the owner and operator, Micah is personally involved in every project — from the initial consultation to the final fixture adjustment. This isn’t a large franchise where you never meet the owner. When you hire Bernardy Lighting, you’re working directly with the person who built the company.

We specialize exclusively in outdoor residential lighting — landscape, soffit, architectural, fence, pool, and patio lighting. By focusing on one specialty, we’ve become genuinely excellent at it. We stay current with the best LED technology, installation techniques, and design approaches — because lighting is all we do.

We serve homeowners throughout the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex, from our Lewisville base to Flower Mound, Southlake, Westlake, Frisco, Plano, and dozens of surrounding communities.

What Sets Us Apart

6 Reasons DFW Homeowners Choose Bernardy Lighting

These aren’t marketing buzzwords — they’re operational commitments that show up in every single project we complete.

🛡️

Fully Insured (General Liability)

We carry general liability insurance. You’re protected if anything goes wrong. Many competing installers — especially lower-cost ones — operate without proper insurance. Don’t risk it on your home.

💡

LED Specialists

We specify LED fixtures when appropriate for the application. Product efficiency, service life, and environmental ratings depend on the selected equipment. We know LED systems inside and out — we never cut corners on components.

🔌

Clean, Hidden Wiring

Wiring is concealed where site conditions and project scope allow. No exposed conduit, no wires running along the surface, no shortcuts. The finished install should look as clean in daylight as it does at night.

📋

Free Consultations

We come to your property, walk the space with you, discuss what’s possible, and provide a detailed written quote — at no cost and with zero pressure to book. We believe you should fully understand the proposal before making any decision.

🌙

Fixture fine-tuning Included

After installation, we return at dusk and walk through the finished lighting with you — adjusting angles, brightness, and coverage until you’re 100% satisfied. This is included in every project. No upcharges, no “we’ll come back later.”

📍

Local DFW Company

We’re not a national franchise or out-of-state company. Bernardy Lighting is a DFW company — based in Lewisville, familiar with local neighborhoods, home styles, HOA requirements, and the Texas climate challenges that outdoor lighting must handle.

The Difference

Bernardy Lighting vs. Cut-Rate Installers

When comparing outdoor lighting companies, the gap between professional and cut-rate often isn’t visible until something goes wrong.

✅ Bernardy Lighting

• Fully insured — general liability coverage
• 100% LED — commercial-grade, weather-resistant fixtures selected for the application
• All wiring hidden underground or in walls
• Fixture fine-tuning & adjustments included
• Owner-led project oversight
• Free detailed quote — no surprise charges
• Familiar with DFW HOA requirements & codes

⚠️ Cut-Rate / cut-rate installers

• Often uninsured — you bear the liability risk
• Mix of cheap consumer fixtures that fail quickly
• Exposed wiring that looks bad and can be a hazard
• No follow-up or adjustments after install
• Subcontracted crews with no direct accountability
• Vague estimates that grow at final billing
• No local knowledge — one-size-fits-all approach

What Clients Say

DFW Homeowners Trust Bernardy Lighting

★★★★★

“Micah transformed our front yard completely. The uplighting on our oak trees looks incredible, and the pathway lights make the entrance feel elegant. He stayed until after dark to make sure everything was exactly right — really impressed with the level of care.”

— DFW Homeowner, Flower Mound ★★★★★

“Professional from start to finish. He walked the whole property with us before we even got a quote, explained every fixture choice, and the finished install looks just like what he described. The wiring is completely hidden — you’d never know it was there.”

— DFW Homeowner, Southlake ★★★★★

“We had a previous company install lights that looked terrible within a year. Bernardy Lighting replaced the whole system and the difference is night and day — literally. Commercial-grade LED fixtures, clean wiring, and a design that actually fits our home’s architecture.”
